Bilston-based
Bowers & Jones, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the international metal forming industry has been awarded a prestigious business accolade at the
Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2024.
The company was crowned the winner of the
Manufacturing and Engineering category, and was also highly commended in the
International Trade and
Business of the Year categories. The awards, which took place at University of Wolverhampton on 21 November, celebrated the achievements of the region's business community.
The
Manufacturing and Engineering award recognised Bowers & Jones for making an outstanding contribution in the manufacturing sector. The commendation in the
International Trade category recognised Bowers & Jones for excelling as an international exporter, while the commendation in the
Business of the Year category acknowledged the company’s consistent revenue growth and profitability, innovative products and services, positive workplace culture, high customer satisfaction levels and strategic vision.

Since taking over the business in 2020 we have worked hard to grow it, and this awards success represents the exceptional efforts of the whole team.”
Serving more than 300 customers across the UK, North America, Europe and beyond, Bowers & Jones is a world leader in the design, manufacture and refurbishment of roll tooling and rolling mill products. The company specialises in the manufacture of tools used to roll long products such as welded and seamless tube and pipe, steel sections and complex copper extrusions.
More recently, rolls are used in the manufacture of non-steel applications including electrical conduction and heating cable. Originally established in 1955, Bowers & Jones was acquired by Jane Sommerville and Nicola Owen in 2020 and is growing on the back of four years of turnover growth, with significant expansion set to continue with new contracts secured in the USA.
