Vaski, following the machinery supplier being appointed by the Finnish company to represent it in the UK and Ireland.
Jonathan Labrum, Cotswold Machinery Sales’ managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to represent Vaski. The company’s punch machines are the most advanced of their type, combining speed with accuracy; and being all-electric they consume about 85% less electric power than similar hydraulic machines.”
Vaski provides solutions for processing flat bar, the largest markets being busbars for power distribution and generation, charging stations, e-mobility, and data centres. The Finnish company also serves the sheet metal industry with advanced blanking and slitting lines, for which its main markets are service centres, sub-contracting, construction materials, HVAC, steel furniture, and racking. Vaski also offers customised machines, material handling, and automation solutions for a wide variety of applications.
Servo-controlled CNC axesFor the automated punching of flat bar, the company’s fully electric VaskiPunch consumes ‘considerably less energy than hydraulic machinery’ and has servo-controlled CNC axes. Moreover, the punch ram enables the use of multi-tools when using the optional rotating unit; this allows the use of 40+1 tools with the VaskiPunch Inspiration, and 72+1 in the VaskiPunch Legacy. The Inspiration model accepts flat-bar widths from 15 to 200mm, and thickness of 3-16mm; the corresponding values for the Legacy model are 15-260mm and 3-20mm.
For bending flat bar, Vaski offers its all-electric VaskiBend family of machines. These accept flat-bar widths from 15 to 200mm and thickness from 3 to 20mm, along with a tool magazine for four stations on the Inspiration model; while for the finishing of flat bar ends, VaskiShape machines are two- or three-axis types with a 3.5kW milling spindle and automatic part measuring.
For automated busbar production there is the VaskiFlow machine series of automated production lines. These incorporate the VaskiVault automatic storage unit and allow the entire production process to be managed by just one operator.
On the sheet metal side, the VaskiUnicoil range offers solutions for single-coil blanking and slitting from coiled sheet metal. There are options for six-, 10-, and 15-tonne coils, sheet widths up to 1,600mm, straightening units with five-11 rollers, slitting units with a maximum of eight pairs of blades, and shears with capacities of 2.5 or 4mm.
