TIMTOS 2025, the biannual international machine tool show held in Taiwan, Rugby-based
TDT Machine Tools Ltd was officially appointed as the UK agent for the
AWEA range of CNC milling machines. TDT’s sales director Phil Terry and sales manager Tim Stell flew out to
TIMTOS to confirm the deal with AWEA's international sales manager Kevin Lin.
Mr Terry said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring AWEA Mechatronic Co Ltd back to the UK market. There’s an increasing demand for high-quality double-column and five-axis CNC milling machines, particularly in aerospace, power generation, and defence. We have been searching for a premium milling brand to complement our You Ji range of vertical ram-type lathes — and with AWEA, we have found the perfect fit.”
Mr Stell added: “The signs so far are very promising. We have already sold two AWEA machines in the UK and haven’t really got started yet. In fact, part of our visit to
TIMTOS has included a trip to the AWEA factory to see first-hand our customers machines in build. The manufacturing facilities were extremely impressive.”
AWEA, which was celebrating its 40th year in business at
TIMTOS, is part of the Goodway Group, which was celebrating its 50th year. AWEA has a comprehensive range of machines in its portfolio, including five-axis machining centres, multi-face machining centres, horizontal machining centres, bridge-type machining centres and standard vertical machining centres.
High-throughput environmentsIts latest generation of automatic pallet-change systems, featuring 15 stacked zero-point pallets on the five-axis range, is proving particularly popular in high-throughput environments. AWEA machines are widely used across sectors including aerospace, defence, automotive, shipbuilding, energy, electronics, communications, and mould manufacturing.
