UAE fabricator appoints Crane and Machine Ltd to sell assets

Glasgow-based Crane and Machine Ltd has been appointed by Lamprell Energy, a major UAE fabrication company, on an exclusive basis to handle the sale of its complete automated pipe spool production facility in Hamtiyah, UAE.

First installed new in 2017 by Germany-based 3R at a cost of around $27 million, the plant has never been in full production due to many market factors, and is no longer required in the ongoing business of Lamprell. The facility comprises two independent production lines each in its own building and can produce up to 450,000 diameter inches (DI) of pipe spools per line per year. One line for carbon steel pipes and one line for stainless steel/exotic material pipe; diameters: 50mm to 400/500mm capacity.

The lines are made up of high quality European machinery fully integrated with automatic pipe storage and inter workstation conveyor and cross feed systems giving real-time information and traceability throughout the processes. The 3R integrated pipe processing systems are among the fastest and most reliable on the market and are widely used in the shipbuilding/oil and gas/chemical industries worlwide.
