Audi recently unveiled the Concept C, a fully electric two-seat roadster that marks the beginning of a bold new design philosophy for the brand. With its minimalist form, advanced engineering, and distinctive styling, the Concept C previews a future production model and sets the tone for Audi’s next generation of vehicles.
The car’s proportions are defined by a central battery layout, allowing the cabin to sit far back on the body. For the first time on an Audi roadster, an electrically retractable hardtop—made of two roof elements, preserves the vehicle’s monolithic silhouette while enabling open-top driving.
An Audi spokesperson said: “The Concept C embodies ‘athletic minimalism’. It is a progressive interpretation of our heritage, combining clarity, technical precision, and emotional appeal.”
At the front, a vertical frame forms the structural centre of the car, inspired by the Auto Union Type C (1936) and the third-generation Audi A6 (2004). This upright design conveys presence and identity, while a strong shoulder line and clean rear surfaces with horizontal slats reinforce the car’s sporty character.
A new four-element light signature, featured in both the headlights and rear lights, will become a defining feature of Audi’s future visual identity. The exterior is finished in titanium, a colour chosen for its warm, technical elegance and association with strength and precision.
Distraction-free environmentInside, the Concept C offers a distraction-free environment with anodised aluminium controls, a 10.4in foldable centre display, and a steering wheel featuring real metal Audi rings. The interior colour palette, also inspired by titanium, complements the use of natural materials and ambient lighting to create a refined, tactile experience.
An Audi spokesperson concluded: “Technology is always close by, yet never dominant,” Audi added. “Controls are exactly where users expect them to be, delivering clarity and precision in every interaction.”
The Concept C represents a pivotal moment for Audi, reaffirming its focus on intelligent design, engineering excellence, and a seamless user experience. It is expected to influence not only the upcoming production model but also the broader design language of future Audi vehicles.
