Stadler delivers its 100th locomotive to European Loc PoolAt the beginning of September 2025, the Swiss internation rail company Stadler reached a ‘major production milestone’ with the delivery of the 100th locomotive to European Loc Pool (ELP) — a full-service locomotive leasing company. A Eurodual locomotive, it will enter service with Havelländische Eisenbahn AG (HVLE).

Iñigo Parra, CEO of Stadler Valencia, said: “With this 100th locomotive now entering service under ELP’s lease and HVLE’s operation, the concept has truly proven its worth. The Eurodual locomotive has become the benchmark for dual-mode traction across Europe, and we are grateful for the vision and trust of our partners at ELP and HVLE in making dual-mode traction a widely adopted solution.”

Since signing a framework agreement with Stadler in May 2019, ELP has steadily expanded its hybrid locomotive fleet — including Eurodual and EURO9000 locomotives throughout Europe — while offering operators full-service leasing solutions that cover both non-electrified lines and the electrified main network.

HVLE was Stadler’s very first Eurodual customer when it signed an initial contract in March 2017 for 10 dual-mode locomotives. They feature 6.2MW of electric power, a 2.8MW diesel engine, and deliver up to 500kN of tractive effort and speeds of up to 120km/h. Furthermore, features such as ETCS (European train control system) signalling, advanced three-axle bogies, integrated remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance, ensure high levels of performance and reliability.
