CVE named one of UK’s best workplaces for second timeCambridge Vacuum Engineering (CVE) has been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production and Transportation for the second year running, by Great Place to Work UK.

The accolade is based on the Trust Index employee survey, which gathers anonymous feedback from staff across a range of key areas including job satisfaction, work-life balance, psychological safety, and opportunities for professional development. The survey also assesses how consistently organisations deliver a positive employee experience across all departments and levels of seniority.

Bob Nicolson, CVE’S managing director, said: “We are proud to be recognised for the second year running. At CVE, we believe that investing in our people — their growth, wellbeing, and success — is the foundation of our progress. This recognition is testament to the culture our team has built together, and we thank every one of our employees for making CVE a truly outstanding place to work.”

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work UK, said: “In industries like manufacturing, engineering, and property — where teams are often spread across multiple sites — maintaining a consistent, connected employee experience can be challenging.

“Our data shows that the top-performing organisations in this sector rise to that challenge by fostering strong communication, inclusive leadership, and a shared culture that reaches every corner of the organisation. No matter where their people work, they feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger. Congratulations to CVE on creating a truly great workplace.”

CVE has been at the forefront of advanced welding technology for over 60 years, supplying innovative solutions to major players in the aerospace, automotive, defence, nuclear, and oil and gas sectors. As industry accelerate efforts to reduce carbon emissions and scale-up production of electric vehicle batteries, wind turbines, and nuclear reactors, demand for CVE’s expertise continues to grow.
