Normanton-based www.sew-eurodrive.co.uk SEW-Eurodrive UK, a drive technology specialist, has expanded its electronics sales division with the appointment of two new area sales managers, reinforcing its commitment to supporting automation growth across the UK.

Colin Wayman and Chris Brown have joined the company to serve customers in the South East of England and Scotland respectively. Their roles will focus on expanding the reach of SEW-Eurodrive’s electronic product portfolio, which includes control units, servomotors and software — key components in modern automation systems used by customers such as Coca Cola and Alway.

SEW-DriveMr Wayman (pictured left) brings 27 years of industry experience, including 24 years at Routeco, where he specialised in sizing and selling inverter drives and servo systems for robotics and precision positioning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical systems engineering from the University of Plymouth.

Mr Brown joins with five years of experience in the drives industry, having started his career with an electrical engineering apprenticeship. He has held various service roles and most recently worked for an overseas agricultural automation company, where he specialised in satellite-based technologies and delivered technical support and training across Europe. In his new role, Mr Brown will apply his practical and technical expertise to help customers identify the right solutions for their automation needs.

Andy Turner, SEW-Eurodrive’s operations director, said: “The electronics division is an ever-growing part of our product offering at SEW-Eurodrive, and it is important we reflect that by expanding our sales team. As more companies move to automated processes in their factories and warehouses, we want to continually build on our expertise in the field, and that is achieved by bringing in people like Colin and Chris, who know drive technology inside and out.

“With over 30 years of industry experience combined, I am confident they will be great additions to our team, working to deliver powerful automation solutions that make a difference to our customers’ processes.”

SEW-Eurodrive UK continues to lead the market in integrated drive technology, offering seamless solutions across logistics, manufacturing and airport-handling sectors.
