Škoda Auto has built 100,000 units of its all-electric Elroq compact SUV since production began at the start of the year — the milestone car is an Elroq vRS. As the first production model to feature the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the Elroq is assembled on a flexible line that also builds the Enyaq and the MQB-based Octavia. This allows the automotive manufacturer to produce both electric and ICE models on the same line to quickly respond to customer demand.
The Elroq is proving popular with customers and experts alike — in the first three-quarters of 2025, it ranked second among Europe’s best-selling BEV models. It has also garnered numerous international honours, including the
Red Dot Design Award, and was recently crowned
German Car of the Year 2026. The 100,000-unit milestone underscores the strong, continuing demand for Škoda’s battery-electric SUVs, the Elroq and Enyaq.
Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto board member for production and logistics, said: “Producing 100,000 Elroqs in under a year of series production is a major achievement for the whole team. It also reflects rigorous preparation and targeted adaptations to our production processes. From the outset, we have fully leveraged the flexibility to build battery-electric and ICE vehicles on the same line. The result is clear — the tremendous response from customers highlights the excellent manufacturing quality of cars ‘made in Mladá Boleslav’.”
In Germany, Škoda’s largest single market, the Elroq was the best-selling EV in October, with 3,320 registrations, and it was also Europe’s overall best-selling EV in April, July and October. The Elroq’s success is reflected not only in strong customer demand but also in a growing list of international awards, including the renowned
Red Dot Design Award. Recently, the compact SUV was named
German Car of the Year 2026.
A jury of 40 leading German and international journalists first selected five class winners from 80 new vehicles before the Elroq prevailed against its four remaining rivals in the final round. It scored particularly well for quality and environmental characteristics, as well as for its price–performance ratio, handling and drivetrain.
