ANDRITZ to develop HFA fineblanking presses with FeintoolStamped parts used in applications such as seat‑belt mechanisms, seat‑adjustment systems, gears and other transmission components rely on exceptionally smooth cut edges, burr‑free finishes and high dimensional accuracy to perform reliably. ANDRITZ Schuler has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of the new HFA plus+ fineblanking presses, designed to meet precisely these requirements. The energy‑efficient presses, available with forces from 3,200 to 15,500kN, are capable of achieving up to 85 strokes per min.

The technology is well established within the organisation, as more than 800 hydraulic fineblanking systems of this type have been supplied globally over several decades through Feintool AG. These HFA presses are now being offered directly by ANDRITZ Schuler. The long‑standing collaboration between the two companies continues on a new basis: Feintool will contribute process and tooling expertise where required, while ANDRITZ Schuler will manufacture the HFA presses and deliver turnkey fine-blanking systems as a general contractor. At the company’s Göppingen headquarters, two new 8,800kN HFA plus+ systems were completed for Feintool in the USA at the start of 2025.

Drawing on extensive experience in fine-blanking press construction, ANDRITZ Schuler has incorporated several enhancements into the updated models. A servo‑controlled hydraulic pump drive improves energy efficiency by a double‑digit percentage while also increasing stroke rates. Servo motors are now used in the automation equipment to ensure fast, reliable material handling, and the control system integrates process monitoring with the interfaces required for future Industry 4.0 applications. Additional customisations and further technical developments are also available.

ANDRITZ Schuler continues to support customers long after commissioning, offering inspection services, spare parts, consulting, upgrades, modernisations and other service solutions. This support extends to existing systems in the HFA Plus and HFA Speed ranges. Alongside the new HFA plus+ series, both established models will remain available as new machines.
