West Yorkshire-based
Ficep (UK) Ltd will showcase its new Gemini LASER steel processing system and demonstrate how integrated laser machining is transforming structural steel fabrication at
MACH 2026, taking place 20-24 April at the NEC, Birmingham (Hall 6, Stand 330). This versatile system combines high-powered fibre-laser cutting with precision mechanical machining on a single gantry platform and can handle thick plates up to 60mm, while integrating drilling, tapping, milling and marking — all in one workflow.
Furthermore, an optional 45deg bevel head enables complex weld preparations without moving the plate between machines. This single machine approach reduces material handling, speeds up production, and increases accuracy — advantages particularly valuable for bridges, offshore structures and large industrial projects.
Engineered for fabricators seeking greater speed without compromising accuracy, the Gemini delivers high-accuracy cutting with reduced manual intervention. Its advanced CNC control and automation capabilities enable consistent, repeatable performance across a wide range of profiles and plate applications.
Improved process reliabilityChris Berriman, Ficep UK’s sales director, said: “The Gemini LASER sets a benchmark in thick plate steel fabrication. Laser cutting is rapidly becoming an integral part of modern steel processing strategies, complementing drilling, sawing and thermal cutting within fully integrated production lines. For businesses balancing increasing demand with ongoing skills shortages, the system is a real game-changer, offering a powerful route to higher throughput and improved process reliability.
“Our UK-based technical engineers will be on hand at
MACH 2026 to explain how the Gemini LASER can help fabricators improve precision, reduce processing time and strengthen overall operational performance. We are looking forward to demonstrating the system’s capabilities at the show.”
Alongside the Gemini LASER, Ficep UK will display its industrial vending solution, designed to provide controlled access to tooling, consumables and PPE. While complementary to the machinery offering, the vending solution reinforces the company’s wider commitment to efficiency and shopfloor control.
