As
ScotPlant 2026 opens its doors on 24-25 April at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh,
ABAX is showcasing how its technology solves real-world industry challenges by highlighting a major success story with
Merlo UK, a leading manufacturer of telescopic handlers. Visitors to the show can learn how Merlo UK, whose machines are available in Scotland through dealers like
Molson Scotland, has gained complete visibility of the high-value attachments used with its demonstration fleet by using ABAX Worksite.
For Merlo UK, maintaining visibility of its demonstration fleet’s 20-25 attachments — each worth up to £20,000 — was a significant operational challenge. With demo machines and their corresponding attachments frequently moving between customers, the risk of loss was high and created a heavy administrative burden.
To solve this, Merlo UK implemented a targeted machinery tracking system, combining ABAX Worksite for its non-powered attachments with ABAX Fleet for its company vehicles. This has given the team real-time visibility across these key assets on a single platform. Owen Buttle, national sales manager at Merlo UK, said: “So we can identify where the machine is, but in addition we can tell where every single piece of equipment and attachment is.”
To achieve this, ABAX Worksite trackers are fitted to all attachments designated for the demonstration fleet upon their arrival in the UK. The system has already delivered significant time savings and reduced administrative effort for the Merlo team, demonstrating a clear ROI (return on investment).
