Ficep UK reported a successful week at MACH 2026, with strong visitor engagement and significant interest in its latest steel processing technology, the Gemini Laser.
The Gemini machine dominated Ficep’s stand, attracting visitors keen to explore how integrated laser machining can enhance productivity and precision in structural steel processing. The system combines fibre laser cutting with drilling, tapping, milling and marking in a single CNC gantry system, designed to process plate up to 60mm thick.
Rather than moving material between separate machines for each operation, the system completes the full sequence in a single set-up, eliminating repositioning, reducing cumulative tolerance error and cutting overall processing time. An optional 45° bevel head option allows weld preparation to be carried out in-cycle, removing the need for secondary operations.
Along with the Gemini Laser, Ficep also demonstrated its industrial vending systems for tooling, consumables and PPE. The systems are designed to provide controlled access, stock visibility and usage tracking at operator level. They reflect a growing focus within the industry on efficiency, traceability and cost management beyond core machinery investment.
Steel Projects was also present on the stand, with a dedicated area focused on production control software. This supported discussions around linking machine output with scheduling, data capture and traceability across fabrication workflows.

Following a high level of engagement during the event, Ficep reported a strong pipeline of enquiries from visitors evaluating next-generation processing solutions to address increasing demand and ongoing skills constraints.
