Okuma sets new standards with the GENOS M4000H-eOkuma has expanded its portfolio with a new 4-axis horizontal machining centre: The GENOS M4000H-e is a powerful entry-level machine, equipped with all essential features and functions for fast, precise, and cost-effective machining. This machine stands out thanks to its exceptional price-performance ratio.

For maximum precision in NC machining, a high degree of rigidity in the machine bed is essential. The GENOS M4000H-e utilises cast iron, which provides outstanding vibration damping, particularly during heavy-duty and high-speed machining. Temperature fluctuations are compensated by Okuma’s renowned Thermo-Friendly Concept, ensuring consistent dimensional stability even during continuous long-term operation.

The table, measuring 400 x 400m, combined with X/Y/Z axis travels of 560/560/625mm, enables the machining of workpieces up to 600mm in diameter and 900mm in height, while requiring minimal floor space. Working in tandem with the powerful B-axis, four-sided machining in a single setup is possible. With a maximum rapid traverse of 60m/min, a high-performance spindle delivering 15,000rev/min and 199Nm of torque, the machine can process all types of materials for industries such as automotive or the production of agricultural and construction machinery.

The automatic tool changer (ATC) accommodates a total of 64 tools in a chain magazine, enabling highly efficient processes and reduced downtime. This is further supported by the easy accessibility of the ATC, rapid tool changes (tool-to-tool: 1.0 seconds; chip-to-chip: 2.6 seconds), and the two-station pallet changer (2APC). Reliable and efficient operation is also ensured by the innovative chip management system, which features high-volume flushing of chip deposits and through-spindle coolant supply. Operators benefit from Okuma’s user-friendly OSP control, which streamlines control operations and reduces setup times.

The GENOS M4000H-e is based on the highly regarded MB-H series and is offered as a comprehensive, powerful, and ready-to-use complete solution. This enables companies to enjoy all the advantages, such as thermal stability and extreme workpiece accuracy, at an impressive price.

Okuma CNC machines are available from Coventry based NCMT in the UK.
