Hope Draughting acquiredRuncorn-based Engenda Group has acquired Hope Draughting Ltd, a Widnes business that specialises in CAD drawings, modelling and 3-D scanning for the engineering sector; it was one of the first UK businesses to introduce laser-scan technology to help industrial plant operators carry out infrastructure surveys.

Engenda managing director Lee Foundation (pictured, left) said the strategic acquisition will bring greater skill and expertise to the group, which was established in 2009.

“This is another significant step forward for the group. Hope Draughting has a terrific reputation and is a market leader in CAD design and modelling. The firm has a strong heritage and international experience in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

“Engenda has been carefully developed through a ‘buy and build’ strategy. This business model has enabled us to create a cluster of industry-leading firms under one banner. We have brought these specialists together so we can offer the complete integrated engineering package.

"Our objective is to be recognised as a leading global provider of mechanical, electrical and instrumental services. We have built a strong reputation based on speed, flexibility, reliability and safety standards. This latest acquisition will help to continue driving momentum, profile and sales.”

Hope Draughting Ltd was founded in 1996 by Jon Brindle (pictured, right), who will now take on the role of operations director. He said: “The move will create opportunities for us to work on major new international projects. We will also be able to tap into greater resource, industry knowledge and contacts across the group to accelerate growth.

"The development also brings the prospect of high-tech job creation in the Widnes, Cheshire and South Liverpool areas. We currently employ 10 people at our Halegate Road site — a figure we are looking to double over time through new expansion plans.”
