Featuring a gantry structure, integrated temperature control and linear drives on all axes, the Exeron MP7 machining centre features levels of precision and rigidity that make it ideally suited to machining ‘micro’ components. It is marketed in the UK by CNC International, Ross-on-Wye (
www.cncinternational.co.uk), and is available as a three- or five-axis machine.
The three-axis version has a work envelope of 730 x 340 x 400mm, while the five-axis version has a Y axis of 250mm to accommodate the B and C axes; the positioning accuracy is 5µm. The HSK40 spindle is rated at 10/13kW and has a top speed of 42,000rev/min. The tool changer offers the option of 30-, 60- or 90-tool capacities. Furthermore, the MP7 has been designed to accept a variety of automation and pallet-loading systems.
The interior of the machine is manufactured from stainless steel, and all the working elements are fully encased so that the machine can undertake extensive wet machining or graphite machining, without detriment to the drives or guideways. Also featured is an integrated laser system for tool checking/measurement.
Control is via the Heidenhain iTNC530 HSCI FS contouring control, which provides optimised path control, short block-processing times and ‘special drive strategies’ designed to optimise speed and contouring accuracy.
