AJ Power looks to the Middle East

AJ Power looks to the Middle EastAJ Power (www.ajpower.net), a County Armagh manufacturer of diesel-powered generating equipment, forecasts an increase in sales to the Middle East of more than 50% this year.

The Craig-avon company, which has taken part in a series of Invest Northern Ireland trade missions to the region, recently opened a sales and technical support office in Dubai to build on a significant rise in business there. Invest NI provided advice and practical support to help AJ Power set up the
office and develop new contacts in Saudi Arabia.

Ashley Pigott, AJ Power’s managing director, said: “Our business across the Middle East — and particularly in the United Arab Emirates — is developing rapidly.

"Opening a sales and technical support office there makes sound business sense and will give us a solid platform for even faster growth. The office is facilitating our existing network of distributors and will help to expand sales
in markets not previously served by the company.

“Invest NI’s guidance on the legal requirements of setting up in Dubai and on developing new contacts has been immensely important, making what can be a complicated process a great deal easier.

"The success of our generators in the region with a broad range of commercial and industrial clients has encouraged us to expand our product portfolio to include our largest high-voltage machines. The Middle East is fast becoming one of our most successful global markets.”
