Forklift truck firm acquires RushliftDoosan Industrial Vehicle UK (doosanflt.com), the fork-lift truck manufacturer with its UK HQ in Northampton, has acquired Rushlift Ltd, which provides materials-handling and aviation-support equipment.

The two companies have a combined turnover of £50 million. Rushlift has six depots across the country, including one in Hinckley; it will continue to operate under its own name.

Doosan is South Korea’s oldest company and one of its largest, with 40,000 employees world-wide and operations in 38 countries.

Tim Waples, CEO of Doosan Industrial Vehicle UK, said: “Our complete product range and Rushlift’s deserved reputation for fleet management, account management and service excellence mean that the two businesses are a fantastic fit.

“We have collaborated extensively over the years, but this acquisition opens the door to larger accounts that were previously denied to both of us as individual companies.”

Rushlift CEO Graham Holyland said: “Rushlift is entering an exciting new growth phase, as we now have the backing of Doosan, with all the opportunities that presents for the business and our employees.”
