Tooling company Ceratizit (
www.ceratizit.com) has improved the performance of its MaxiDrill 900 system for drilling into solid material, thanks to the high-performance CVD-coated (TiCN/Al2O3) Blackstar CTCP420 insert used for the peripheral cutting edge.
Available in diameters from 12mm to more than 63mm (upon request), as well as imperial sizes, these drills are ideally suited to machining steels and cast irons.
Other recent developments from Ceratizit include new insert grades for milling that offer significantly greater resistance to wear when machining steel, and a new high-performance grade for parting-off and grooving applications in steels and cast irons. (Hall 6, Stand N16/P15)
