Cost-effective turning of complex parts Receiving its world premiere on the Tornos stand will be the Swiss GT13, which is targeted at the precision production of medium to highly complex parts up to 13mm in diameter, making it particularly suitable for applications in the medical, micro-mechanical and electronics sectors.

The machine incorporates a Y axis with eight tool positions that can work on both the main spindle and counter-
spindle, which operate independently and have the same power rating.

The GT13 has a total of 30 tool positions; 22 of these are on the main platen, while eight are for counter operations. Moreover, up to 12 tool positions can be powered for driven-tool operations.

Tool stations can also be equipped with special devices such as angled milling heads, polygon cutters, thread-whirling attachments and gear-hobbing units.

The machine’s 15,000rev/min spindle features Tornos’s new motorised guide bush, which allows the machine to be converted to guide-bushless operation in just 15min.

The machine is also equipped with the new SBF 213 Robobar bar loader. (Hall 4, Stand C08/D09)
