‘Engineering precisely what you value’

‘Engineering precisely what you value’ Switzerland-based Starrag Group (Hall 12, Stand B60) — a manufacturer of high-precision machine tools for milling, turning, boring and grinding workpieces of metallic, composite and ceramic materials — will have at least three machines on show at EMO.

The company is represented in the UK by its subsidiary — Birmingham-based Starrag UK Ltd (www.starrag.com) — and the technologies on show will reinforce its ethos of ‘Engineering precisely what you value’.

The line-up will include the new Starrag NB 151 machining centre, designed specifically to machine aircraft impellers and blisks up to 600mm in diameter.

It features an innovative spindle with two rotary axes, which allows the tool/cutting angle to be positioned relatively closer to the workpiece, resulting in a more stable machining process and reducing cycle times.

Also on display will be a Heckert T45 five-axis horizontal machining centre, a Bumotec s181 five-axis turn-mill machining centre and a Sprint Z3 parallel kinematic machining head.

Starrag’s success with all its product lines — Berthiez, Bumotec, Dörries, Droop+Rein, Ecospeed, Heckert, Scharmann, SIP, Starrag and TTL — has been built on providing machining solutions tailored for individual customer needs.

That extends from a stand-alone machine through to a fully automated flexible manufacturing system with multiple machines, integrated with high-end workpiece handling/transport options.

Whatever the size and scope of machining, Starrag can also supply the appropriate cell and software control, including a host of features for the integration of Industry 4.0 strategies.
