Blackburn-based Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE) (
www.prepol.com), which makes high-performance moulded elastomer seals, has opened a multi-million-pound manufacturing facility in Brenham, Texas, and taken on an initial 15 staff.
Global marketing manager Tynan Carroll said: “Our main market geographically is still western Europe, but some of the largest players in the semi-conductor and oil and gas industries are based in Silicon Valley and Houston, Texas.
“The new manufacturing facility, along with our offices in Houston and San Jose, allows us to be at the heart of those industries.”
The Brenham plant is PPE’s first overseas manufacturing facility. Prior to that, everything was made by its 300-strong team in Lancashire.
