Hereford-based TRP Sealing Systems (
www.trpsealing.com) — the elastomatic rubber seal, gasket and moulding specialist — has ordered a Wele bridge-type LB-series machining centre from 2D CNC Machinery Ltd, Hinckley (
www.2DCNC.co.uk).
The plan is to bring some of its larger mould tool operations in-house, thanks to this machine’s high specification, rigidity and working volume of 4.060 x 2.150 x 800mm.
The Wele LB421 will be installed in a refurbished tool-room, and a skilled programmer/setter has been recruited.
Managing director Simon Children says: “We selected the Wele machine as our flagship investment not only because its specification fitted our requirements but also because 2D CNC fully understood our needs.
“It has continued to provide high levels of support as we develop our tool-room operation.”
TRP serves the automotive, electronics, medical, marine, power generation, oil and gas, aerospace and defence industries.
It has extensive capabilities in materials specification and development — for example, tailoring polymers to specific applications. Its in-house tool design is supported by a prototyping service that uses the latest additive-manufacturing technology.
