Sovex works on mail projectWirral-based Sovex (www.sovexsystems.com) has helped UK Mail (www.ukmail.com) to create a system involving about 100 conveyor belts and vehicle loaders that allows goods of different types to be transported around its new hub facility in Ryton, near Coventry.

The company began work on the contract in late 2013.

Sovex founder and chairman David Lindfield said: “We were brought into the project to provide a flexible and bespoke vehicle-loader and warehouse-conveyor solution.

“A key aim of the project was to increase the hub’s capacity for loose loading. The solution needed to ensure that UK Mail could load and unload all types of goods; it also had to create more space, in case they need to still handle pallets. Essentially, this meant a complete re-design of the conveyor footprint.”
