Derby-based MJ Robinson Structures (
www.mjrobinson.com), which specialises in steel fabrication, has acquired a second base in the city after gaining the backing of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
The company, which was set up by father-and-son team John and Mike Robinson in 2011 and has sales of more than £8 million, has bought an additional 14,000ft2 facility on Empire Business Park after receiving a £250,000 loan from RBS.
Managing director Mike Robinson said: “There is a great deal of confidence in the market at the moment. We have seen demand increase across both the private and public sectors, driving the growth of our business.
“As the building industry continues to recover, we are predicting that this growth will continue, so we are taking steps throughout the company to ensure that we are well placed to be able to maximise the opportunities that arise. One such step is to ensure that we have sufficient space to operate from; the new unit will give us the added room we need.”
