Oberlin Filter, the UK subsidiary of a US-owned global filtration manufacturer, has moved to larger premises in Newton Aycliffe as part of a £350,000 expansion.
The company, which produces automatic pressure filtration units for a number of companies in the heavy engineering, surface treatment, medical, aerospace and automotive sectors, is owned by a family-run business based in Wisconsin (USA); there is also a production facility in Eschweiler (Germany).
Oberlin began production in Newton Aycliffe in 2002, originally in one unit on Aycliffe Business Park; as the business gradually expanded over the years, it took over three neighbouring units. Having outgrown these units, it has now moved to new 11,000sq ft premises on the business park.
The new facility will allow Oberlin Filter and its seven staff to maintain recent growth (after seeing its turnover double to £1.8 million in the last few years) and explore new markets.
