Liverpool-based Surface Transforms (
www.surface-transforms.com), which manufactures brakes for high-performance vehicles (including the Porsche GT3 and the Nissan GT-R), has said it intends to raise up to £5 million to help fund the fit-out of its new factory.
In February, the company signed an agreement to lease a new factory on Knowsley Business Park, occupying 30,00ft2 from September and a further 25,000ft2 in 2019. Its current 12,000ft2 site in Ellesmere Port will be vacated when the lease expires in early 2017.
Chairman David Bundred said: “We are pursuing a number of significant OEM production contract opportunities. The net proceeds of the fundraising will enable the board to pursue its strategy of having the capacity to supply the commercial volumes that may be required by automotive OEMs seeking carbon-fibre reinforced ceramic brake discs, as well as to fulfil existing commitments. This fundraising enables the company to move forward to the next step of its exciting development.”
