Italy’s TTM Laser Spa (
www.ttmlaser.com) has supplied an FL 300 tube laser cutting machine to Premier Lasertube (
www.premierlasertubeuk.co.uk).
This new-generation machine — the first of its kind in the UK — opens up a number of new opportunities
for Premier’s customers, as the Leeds-based company can now create innovative, highly accurate and repeatable products and can switch in minutes from cutting mild steel to stainless steel.
The FL 300 is available with a 3-D or 2-D cutting head; it can handle pipes and profiles with diameters from 20 to 305mm, squares between 20 and 250mm, angles up to 200 x 200mm and channels up to 230 x 90mm.
Automated bundle loading from the rear is available, as is single bar loading from the front, via a multi-point chain system with a maximum length of 12.5m (the maximum finished part length is 12m).
Premier is also benefitting from bespoke CAD and CAM software that allows it to draw and design in 3-D, ensuring that the finished product exactly matches the customer’s requirements.
Premier, an established name in steel stockholding, processing and laser cutting, is part of the Brown & Tawse group of companies.
Having recently invested in new facilities and machinery for its 60,000sq ft facility in Leeds, the company now offers the services of three tube laser cutting machines, along with sawing, drilling and tapping capabilities. Moreover, it is able to offer “advantageous” lead times through the development of key partnerships with both suppliers and customers.
