Tooling expert Walter GB Ltd (
www.walter-tools.com) has instigated developments at its Bromsgrove headquarters that not only align with its parent company’s global Industry 4.0 initiative but are also designed to improve service levels to customers throughout the UK.
With more than 70% of orders for new tooling now being received electronically via Walter’s Web site, the UK sales and administration teams have relocated into an updated and refurbished office area designed to use resources in the most effective way.
Engineering manager Nick Welsman oversaw the building, decorating and ‘integrated IT revamp’; he also ensured that schedules were met and that energy-efficient and eco-friendly features such as LED lighting systems were used wherever possible.
“Having a streamlined and integrated UK base where people can more effectively maintain the customer interface is the perfect complement to the ‘Engineering Kompetenz’ of our face-to-face field sales resource, which continues to grow.
“Furthermore, our extensive product range of around 49,000 catalogue tools for milling, drilling, turning and threading — within the brands of Walter, Walter Titex, Walter Prototyp, Walter Valenite and Walter Multiply — is supported by the new ‘Inclusive 4’ Technology Centre at our global headquarters in Germany.”
