UK Circuits targets defence industry with JOSCAR registration

UK Circuits targets defence industry with JOSCAR registrationUK Circuits, a contract electronics manufacturer (CEM), has been accredited by the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR), demonstrating its compliance to defence sector standards. JOSCAR is an accreditation system used primarily in the defence and security industry to help companies identify suppliers and partners who comply with the sector’s key regulations and standards.

Suppliers who meet the required standards for quality, information security and corporate social responsibility are registered on JOSCAR’s central database, making it easier for companies to identify and choose them. UK Circuits can now use the JOSCAR registration mark, reinforcing its commitment to meeting all necessary standards when producing products with high reliability and durability.

Marc Ellis, managing director of UK Circuits, said: “We aim to maintain the highest standards across our supply chain to meet the demands of potential clients as we gear up to supply in the defence sector. With the JOSCAR registration mark, we can better demonstrate to companies in the British defence sector that UK Circuits can manufacture the hig quality and compliant electronics they require.”

New opportunities

The JOSCAR registration mark is valued by many of the largest purchasers in the defence community, creating new opportunities for UK Circuits as it increases its electronics manufacturing support to the defence sector. UK Circuits’ recent accreditation comes as the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announces over £4 billion investment towards developing military systems. As funding for British defence technology increases, so too does the demand for manufacturers compliant with the sector’s supply chain data and risk management standards.

Mr Ellis added: “As investment into our nation’s defence continues to grow, UK-based manufacturers are rising to the challenge to support the development of military technology. Given the stringent standards and need for compliance, accreditations like JOSCAR are essential for giving buyers the confidence to select validated suppliers they can trust.”

Founded in 1997, UK Circuits produce both surface-mounted (on printed circuit boards or PCBs) and conventionally assembled (through-the-hole) electronics for over 100 clients. With a 20,000ft2 ‘state of the art’ facility and a growing team of over 40 electronics specialists, UK Circuits have become one of Britain’s leading contract electronics manufacturers supporting sectors including sensors and monitoring, industrial, entertainment, lighting, audio and defence.

In addition to its JOSCAR accreditation, UK Circuits continues its support to the defence sector by recently joining Make UK Defence, which will help the company to build connections across the diverse defence membership.
