Boat-maker rescued by AlnmaritecAn Essex-based designer and manufacturer of military workboats and vessels for offshore wind-farm projects has been bought out of administration in a ‘pre-pack’ deal.

Matt Howard and Stuart Morton of the Price Bailey accountancy group were appointed joint administrators of CTruk Boats Ltd (www.ctruk.com) on 4 November.

Following a “thoroughly robust marketing strategy”, the Colchester-based business was sold for an undisclosed sum to Alnmaritec (www.alnmaritec.co.uk), which describes itself an innovative boat-building company based in the Port of Blyth on the North East coast (specialising in aluminium-alloy workboats for operators across a wide range of industrial sectors).

“The financial value of the deal was not disclosed, but it was confirmed that no redundancies were made. The administrators said that the demand for CTruk’s products had “fallen considerably” due to significant changes in the offshore wind farm industry.
