Luxonic Lighting (
luxonic.co.uk) has said that it is expanding its headquarters in Basingstoke after reporting record financial results in what it described as a “landmark year”.
Construction work has started on the new site, which will include more than 17,000ft
2 of space and will be split into two areas — one for production and the other for storage. Production is expected to begin early next year.
Managing director Nick Tavaré said. “We are all very excited by the Basingstoke expansion. At every stage of planning, the emphasis has been on building a hub for production that uses lean manufacturing methods and will improve the output efficiency of all our luminaires, while maintaining the high level of quality that Luxonic is synonymous with.”
The expansion follows a “commercially and financially successful year” for Luxonic, with sales exceeding the £20 million mark for 2015-16, an increase of almost 30% on the previous financial year.
Earlier this year, the company celebrated its 30th anniversary with new offices in London and Glasgow.
