ANT Industries, which is based in Atherstone and manufactures aero-engine components, has won a five-year contract worth £25 million on six new civil-engine programmes.
This will involve providing parts for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine. The deal came about as a result of ANT’s participation in last year’s
Farnborough Airshow, where it shared a stand with other members of Coventry and Warwickshire Aerospace Forum (CWAF).
ANT Industries managing director Shaun Rowley (pictured) said: “This contract will secure jobs in both our business and our supply chain. Like many firms in the aerospace industry, we are seeing further opportunities due to the continuing growth in the global aerospace market.
“As a result, we have made substantial investments in capital equipment and in R&D, which has undoubtedly helped us to win this order.”
CWAF chairman Jason Aldridge said: “To see our members involved in deals like this is fantastic for the region and shows how important Midlands aerospace businesses are to the global aerospace industry.
“This not only helps to secure and create jobs for ANT Industries but will also have a knock-on effect and secure other jobs in the industry.”
