Finland-based AW Energy (
www.aw-energy.com) is collaborating with Queen’s University Belfast (
www.qub.ac.uk) on the development and testing of a re-deployable towable basement for its WaveRoller wave energy device.
The partnership runs until 15 January 2018. Trevor Whittaker, professor of coastal engineering, said: “We are delighted to be using our knowledge of wave-power technology — acquired over the past 40 years — to support AW Energy with its R&D.”
