Derbyshire-based Street Crane has installed its overhead cranes at a new ‘state of the art’ fabrication facility for Thornhill Heat Exchangers — a leading manufacturer of rubber gaskets and plate heat exchangers.
Six Street overhead cranes have been installed — one with a lifting capacity of 10 tonnes and five with a lifting capacity of 15 tonnes.
They are being used to lift materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium and titanium onto the machines that manufacture the heat exchangers; they will also be used to handle the fabricated storage vessels that will be produced at the site.
Thornhill’s general manager, Mark Ingram, said: “We needed overhead cranes that would enable us to efficiently and reliably move large and heavy materials around the new site, ensuring maximum productivity.
“We chose Street because it’s a UK manufacturer with a strong reputation, and we wanted cranes of the highest quality, backed by strong after-sales support.”
