Kingswinford-based RP Technologies — a prototype and production tooling and plastic injection moulding specialist — has invested more than £130,000 in a new machine as part of its on-going investment and expansion plans (
www.rptechnologies.co.uk).
The company has purchased a Borche 600-tonne injection moulding machine to increase its part size offering to components with a shot weight up to 2.3kg.
Over the last five years, RP Technologies has purchased a large amount of new machinery, taken on additional members of staff and opened a sales office in Germany.
This growth strategy has resulted in new opportunities, including a number of requests for larger components, which prompted the purchase of the 600-tonne moulding machine.
This is RP Technologies’ second large investment of the year, having previously purchased two large Hurco CNC machining centres, a hot plate welding machine and a mould simulation analysis software package.
The Hurco machines were purchased as part of the company’s forward planning to ensure that it had the capacity to manufacture larger tools to fit the new 600-tonne machine.
