Yamazaki Mazak UK has raised £1,441 for Cancer Research UK, following a series of charity events that took place throughout August.
The Worcester-based machine tool manufacturer, which employs over 900 peoplein the local area, held its biggest-ever cake sale at its European headquarters at the start of the month.
Posters to raise awareness of the charity campaign around Mazak’s Worcester sites, as well as dedicated charity T-shirts for those running the events, were donated by Mazak partners HROC and PG Branding.
The company also ran a raffle for both employees and their families. However, the charity initiatives were not limited to Mazak’s Worcester site; on 11 August, Milko Hadzhigenov — Mazak’s senior marketing executive — climbed Mount Snowdon (in just 4.5hr) to support the fund-raising efforts.
Richard Smith, European group managing director of Yamazaki Mazak, said: “On behalf of Yamazaki Mazak UK, I would like to thank our partners for their generosity and donations, as well as every organisation that kindly provided prizes to our raffle.
“Special mention must go to those employees that took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon during an uncharacteristically hot summer, as well as to all those who dug deep to help us raise a fantastic amount of money.”
