After using two CO
2 laser cutting machines for more than 15 years, a UK-based global leader in stainless steel is investing in a bespoke Kimla fibre laser from Leeds-based MBA Engineering (
www.mba-eng.co.uk) in order to increase its production capabilities and reduce its running costs. The single Kimla fibre laser will replace the two CO2 machines, streamlining the manufacturer’s processes and freeing up floor space.
The final decision was made following a recent visit with MBA Engineering to Kimla’s facility in Poland, where the stainless-steel company was impressed not only by the precision of the fibre laser but also its operating speed.
The new 6 x 2m Kimla machine comes complete with a bespoke automation system, with the customer directly involved in its
design.
Bradley McBain, MBA Engineering’s managing director, said: “This client is one of the biggest names in stainless steel, so we’re immensely proud to provide the company with a precision cost-effective fibre laser solution.
“At MBA Engineering, we’re constantly looking to identify ways for our customers to enhance the efficient running of their business.
“Replacing two laser cutting systems with a bespoke Kimla machine is a great example of how we can significantly improve a manufacturer’s production process.”
