Fujian Fuxin Special Steel Co Ltd (Fuxin), which is part of Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Group, has selected SMS (
www.sms-group.com) to supply a coil-trimming line for stainless-steel strip.
The line, which is to be installed in the Fujian province of China and is scheduled to start production in 2020, will enable Fuxin to process 150,000 tonnes of cold strip annually.
The material will mainly be used for applications in the home-appliance, elevator and construction industries; the edge scrap will be cut into pieces by a scrap chopper.
Besides trimming, the line will also uncoil and rewind the coils.
The line will process strip up to 1,350mm wide and between 0.2 and 3.0mm thick.
The maximum process speed will be 200m/min, and the strip will comprise stainless steel in the 200, 300 and 400 series.
