Queen’s Award for LattimerSouthport-based Lattimer (www.lattimer.com), a precision machinist of products for the glass container manufacturing industry, has been presented with the 2018 Queen’s Award (in the international trade category).

The company manufactures around 30,000 different products for container glass manufacturing plants in more than 60 countries world-wide; it has offices in Southport and New Jersey.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark Blundell, visited the company to present the award to the firm’s senior management, employees and apprentices.

Stephen Waterhouse, Lattimer CEO, said: “This is an incredibly proud moment for each and every person who has contributed to the success of Lattimer since its inception in 1942.

"This business has remained hungry and ambitious.

"For decades, we have consistently raised the bar in terms of engineering processes and techniques for the container glass manufacturing sector.

"Due to the quality of our products and our ability to produce complex tailor-made solutions, we have been able to export to all four corners of the globe.

"Our ethos is firmly rooted in developing international trade and new export markets.

"Overseas sales account for 96% of our turnover.”
