Derbyshire-based BG Engineering (www.bgeng.com), a precision sub-contractor specialising in CNC machining, has secured AS9100 aerospace-industry accreditation.

This follows a rigorous external audit of the company’s quality management system by Lloyds Register.

Antony Holmes, managing director of BG Engineering, said: “This is a major milestone in the company’s history, which will help to shape our future.

“We have been working to secure this accreditation for almost 12 months, and the 100% rating we achieved is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.

“Having AS9100 will open up whole new markets for us, as it provides validation of our expertise and professionalism.

“We will be looking to develop business opportunities and partnerships with the aerospace and defence supply chain, where they require the specialist machining capabilities that we provide."
