Thermco Systems opens second UK facilityThermco Systems (a division of Tetreon Technologies Ltd that makes equipment for the semiconductor, power devices, MEMS, LED and photo-voltaic sectors) has opened a second manufacturing facility — close to its existing UK facility in Washington, West Sussex — to support demand for its range of horizontal thermal reactors and chemical wet-benches.

Founded in 1962 and having the largest installed base of over 30,000 horizontal diffusion furnaces world-wide for the semiconductor market, Thermco says that its customers can now benefit from an increased range of semiconductor solutions across Europe, North America, Canada, Russia, China and other Asian locations.

These solutions now include: horizontal and vertical atmospheric and low-pressure chemical vapour deposition thermal reactor furnaces; batch epitaxy reactors; chemical wet-benches; epitaxy reactors and batch ashers; four-point probes and other metrology equipment; and next-generation backwards-compatible control systems and gas cabinets.

Andrew Conning, Thermco’s managing director (www.thermcosystems.com), said: “It’s been a very exciting year for Thermco in which we’ve seen our order book go from strength to strength and the business grow considerably.

“Our acquisition of CSD Epitaxy in California and the strong relationship we’ve built with Kokusai in Europe give us improved capability and capacity to meet our customers’ needs and deliver high-quality engineered solutions.”
