PTC industry software expands footprint in Australia and New ZealandLondon-based PTC has announced the opening of a new Melbourne office as part of its expansion in Australia and New Zealand.

The new hub will support PTC’s growing Onshape cloud-native CAD and PDM business in the region, reflecting customer demand and marking a key step in the digital transformation specialist’s growth strategy.

The Exhibition Street office will serve as a regional hub for customer engagement, technical support, and business development, with the team there focusing on expanding adoption of Onshape while supporting existing customers and strengthening PTC’s presence within the regional product development ecosystem.

This expansion is driven by strong adoption of Onshape across Australia and New Zealand, where manufacturers and product development teams are increasingly transitioning to cloud-native platforms.

As these companies modernise their product development processes to improve collaboration and support distributed teams, the need for in-region expertise continues to grow.

David Katzman, general manager of Onshape and Arena at PTC, said: “Australia and New Zealand have become important hubs for engineering, advanced manufacturing, and product development, and this expansion reflects PTC’s continued investment in the region.

“By establishing a local presence, we’re creating a foundation to scale our business, expand our partner ecosystem, and support a new generation of product teams building in the cloud.”

Josh Graessle, senior manager of Industrial Transformation at local analyst Verdantix, added: "Australia and New Zealand continue to be attractive markets for cloud-based engineering software as manufacturers modernise product development processes and support increasingly distributed teams.

"Local expertise combined with cloud-native technology can play an important role in accelerating adoption."

With Onshape and the rest of its portfolio, PTC is delivering on its vision for the Intelligent Product Lifecycle, enabling manufacturers and product companies to build a product data foundation, extend the value of that data across their enterprise, and accelerate AI-driven transformation.

Broader use of product data enables companies to bring higher quality products to market faster, better manage product complexity, meet regulatory and compliance standards, and much more.
