New managing director appointed at SengSSengS (Subsea Engineering Solutions Ltd) has appointed David Benison as its new managing director. Based at the company’s Ellon facility, he has nearly 30 years’ experience in senior management roles after a successful career in the sub-sea division of global energy services firm Aker Solutions.

Most recently, he was responsible for the service and maintenance of sub-sea and top-side equipment for installed base assets on the UK Continental Shelf.

SengS (www.sengs.org.uk) was acquired in 2016 by Pryme Group, which provides integrated manufacturing solutions to clients in the oil and gas, aerospace and defence industries.

Mr Benison said: “I’m pleased to have taken on this important strategic role at such an exciting time for SengS.

“I look forward to the chance to strengthen relationships with our customer base, develop the brand identity and identify new opportunities for growth.

"Working alongside the wider Pryme Group, the potential is there to grow SengS into a serious player in the wider sub-sea sector; building upon the investment made to strengthen the company’s capabilities over recent years.”

SengS provides engineering, testing, control and hydraulic systems and tooling for clients primarily in the energy industry.

The company has spent £4.4 million over the last five years developing its 9,817ft2 test facility.

Since 2012, it has completed more than 600 projects in multiple disciplines for clients in the North Sea, Azerbaijan, the Middle East and West Africa.
