Huddersfield-based Bespoke Stairlifts is embarking on a new era in its 15-year history after appointing a new management team with a combined 60 years’ of experience.
The company built its reputation on the reconditioning of curved stairlifts; it is now also manufacturing a range of straight stairlifts (around 70% of the UK’s demand is for straight stairlifts) under the guidance of a new sales and marketing director (Jules Allen) plus new managers for its UK and export dealer networks.
Mr Allen has almost 20 years’ of management and export experience in the mobility industry.
His role is to extend the company’s presence in the UK and overseas and expand into different markets.
Tom Smith has two decades of experience as a manager of UK dealer networks, while German-born Raimund Schupp has more than20 years’ experience of export sales management.
Managing director David Forsyth (

“These latest three appointments are indicative of the way this business is evolving.
“Bringing Jules, Tom and Raimund into the team has been a calculated move to help us take the next step up and be seen as a serious contender in the stairlift sector.”
Bespoke Stairlifts now employs more than 50 people and produces around 150 tailor-made stairlifts each month.
