JJ Churchill shortlisted for awardLeicestershire-based JJ Churchill, a precision engineering firm, has been shortlisted in The Manufacturer MX Awards 2019 (TMMX).

The company will now go head-to-head with manufacturers around the UK for the title of Britain’s top leadership and strategy business.

Over 50 companies have made it through to the finals of the TMMX Awards, and 2019 has seen a significant number of new companies entering, including Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Weetabix and commercial printer Bluetree Group — all vying to win 11 category awards and ultimately the title of Manufacturer of the Year.

Company chairman Andrew Churchill said (www.jjchurchill.com): “JJ Churchill is a family business that focuses on precision engineering, and our 164-strong workforce operates at an international level.

"We have worked very hard to refocus the business and develop our people, all of whom share in our successes.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Leadership & Strategy award, and we are looking forward to the big event.”

The finalists go through to the second round of the competition, where judging teams travel the length and breadth of the UK to visit the factories to gather first-hand evidence of how they operate.

The judges include previous award winners, Fellows from the IMechE, representatives from each of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Centres, leading academics and industry experts.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and gala dinner in Liverpool on 14 November, which will be the culmination and highlight of Digital Manufacturing Week.

The TMMX Awards are organised by The Manufacturer in partnership with the IMechE.

It is a matter of pride for both organisers that the experience provides real value to the participants.

After each round of judging, every entrant is given feedback from the judges, whose expert assessment has been described by previous entrants as a ‘free consultancy’ report, helping them to benchmark themselves against the very best businesses in the manufacturing sector.
