Northern Ireland-based McGreevy Engineering, which specialises in precision-machined components, five-axis milling and multi-axis turn milling, has invested in a high-performance Mitutoyo CNC co-ordinate measure machine (CMM) to support its manufacturing operations and help it to meet global standards for key products.
The Belfast-based company (
www.mcgreevyengineering.co.uk) holds the SC21 Bronze award as well as AS9100, which is designed specifically for the aviation, space and defence industries; it promotes continuous improvement, while ensuring that the company’s processes are accurate and consistent.
McGreevy Engineering’s managing director, Aaron McGreevy, said: “This is a key investment for the company, and as we continue to grow, it is imperative that we invest in our people and in new equipment. Having been to the
Paris Air Show earlier this year and met with some of our key customers, I view this as a significant step for our business.
“Quality is such an important aspect of precision engineering and the aerospace sector in particular.
“We have re-organised the factory, along with adding some internal structures to tailor the building for the CMM, to ensure that the right conditions are provided.
“Our continuing commitment to the quality of output is illustrated by this recent installation, and I am delighted with the end result.”
