The Hamilton branch of UK-based metal-bending experts Barnshaws has delivered 11 rolled steel cylinders to form two de-aerator vessels destined for a platform in the Johan Sverdrup oilfield in the North Sea.

www.barnshaws.com) has built a reputation in the supply of metal fabrications for challenging projects, and its Hamilton branch now uses these skills to serve the offshore oil and gas industry.
The customer for these cylinders — a leading supplier of vessels, tanks and piping to the offshore industry — has worked closely with Barnshaws in the past.
When cylinders were needed within a constrained timeframe, it contacted Barnshaws for a high-quality and prompt solution.
The work had to be carried out within three weeks, so that the de-aeration vessels could be installed on the offshore platform as quickly as possible.
Barnshaws rolled 35 tonnes of 16mm steel plate to a diameter of 3.8m.The rolled cylinders had to adhere to stringent quality levels.
