An Open House event due to take place at Derbyshire-based OGP UK on Wednesday 4 December will give engineering and manufacturing professionals an opportunity to view world-leading multi-sensor metrology technology not previously seen in the UK.
Visitors will get to see the FlexPoint system; OGP says this is the only co-ordinate measurement machine that features multiple high-accuracy sensors in a VersaFlex cluster head.
It is designed for precision inspection and data reporting on intricate manufactured parts.
Other UK firsts will be demonstrations of the Fusion (OGP’s most advanced multi-sensor SmartScope system) and the Shape-Grabber Ai620 (a metrology-class 3-D scanner capable of rapidly assessing complex surfaces with a high density of data points).
Tutorials on the ZONE3 metrology software package — alongside machines from OGP’s SNAP, Vantage and CNC ranges — will complete the line-up.
Graham Shaw, OGP UK’s sales manager, said: “Our Open Houses are always popular events that allow us to interact with visitors in a way we aren’t typically able to.
"They also offer a chance for customers old and new to bring along their most complex and difficult-to-measure components, so that our experts can not only advise on the best solution but also demonstrate that solution in action.
"Our guarantee is that multi-sensor metrology can dramatically improve any production process in any industry.”
Having earned UKAS accreditation, OGP UK can perform acceptance and re-verification tests on optical measuring systems in accordance with ISO 10360-7, confirming that they work to the highest standards.
