Surrey-based Vision Engineering (
www.visioneng.com), which specialises in visual inspection and measurement technologies, has won the
Productronica Inspection and Quality Cluster Award 2019 for its DRV-Z1 — a ‘state of the art’ 3-D visualisation product.
The Deep Reality Viewer (DRV) produces high-resolution stereo images without the need for a monitor, head-set or glasses; the images ‘float’ in front of a viewing mirror.
Based on this new technology, the DRV-Z1, was developed as a microscope version with stereo zoom.
It was created specifically for inspection and manufacturing applications and combines the advantages of optical stereo-microscopy and digital technology in one system.
It gives users a natural 3-D view with full HD resolution and excellent object sharpness.
Vision Engineering’s managing director, Mark Curtis, said: “We are thrilled to see that our ground-breaking technological accomplishment this year — the DRV-Z1 — has won this award.
The ability to share high-definition three-dimensional images has already been hugely beneficial to a range of different industries.
“General feedback from customers is that the DRV-Z1 improves accuracy, quality and control, plus general workplace efficiency.
“We are excited about the opportunity to apply this technology in key industries such as manufacturing, health-care and the automotive sector.”
